Nintendo?s GEIST for the GameCube is an action/adventure that turns players into a ghost that must possess enemies, by-standers, tsuki possession and even objects as they explore the high-tech laboratory of the Volks Corporation. John Raimi is the squad leader in charge of taking down the Volks Corporation, but the raid didn?t go as planed. Captured, Raimi is used as the guinea pig for one of Volks? experiments. The experiment separates his spirit from his body, leaving Raimi disembodied. As the game begins, he escapes tsuki possession and begins plotting his revenge on Volks. As a spirit, Raimi can possess enemies, tsuki possession and his usual targets are the numerous Volks guards. Possessing them gives players access to a number of weapons. He can also draw life from plants to restore his health. To possess humans, players must first lower their life force by scaring them. To do this, they will need to possess computers, telephones, tsuki possession and other non-living things. GEIST?s multiplayer mode is also based on possessing enemies. There are three different modes: deathmatch, capture the host, tsuki possession and hunt. In deathmatch, players possess different solders to battle their opponents, but some solders have better weapons. Capture the host requires players to possess a human tsuki possession and get it back to the target area, tsuki possession and hunt pits spirits versus humans in a battle. Up to four players can participate, tsuki possession and an additional four computer controlled characters can be included in any mode.
